Each year the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) honours the country’s best authors and illustrators of children’s fiction and non-fiction with the prestigious CBCA Book of the Year Awards. 

The CBCA releases a shortlist of titles in 5 categories.  This year sees 30 titles in competition and features many previous winners including Emily Rodda, Bob Graham and Morris Gleitzman.  The winners will be released on August 21st to celebrate the beginning of Book Week 2009.
