School Visits
Visiting the Library with a school group is a great way to introduce children to their public library.
At Cairns Libraries the Children's Librarian can provide schools with
- a tailored library tour,
- an overview of the children's resources available,
- membership information, and
- fun lessons on how to find and reserve items using online facilities.
Special storytimes can also be arranged to tie in with the curriculum.
The Children's Librarian is also available to provide talks about public library services in your class or school library. The Library also has a mascot, Dewey, the white-lipped tree frog, who often hops along too.
To discuss options, please contact the Children's Librarian on 4044 3785 or by email.
