Cairns Libraries Collection Development Policy
Cairns Regional Council General Policy No: 1:06:11 - Current Adoption 19/06/2008
The goals of the Collection Development Policy are:
• To provide information to the community to enable everyone to contribute to the development of the range of books and other library materials available within our community;
• To provide guidance to staff in selecting materials;
• To provide a co-ordinated approach to shaping Cairns Libraries’ collection;
• To assist in the provision of a library and information service in the present and for the future.
