Closure of Stratford Library - The doors of the present building closed for the last time at 6pm Friday 22nd August. Construction work on the new building, which will include improved facilities for members and a state of the art meeting facility will commence immediately and is planned for completion in early 2009. Stratford members are encouraged to visit any of the other branches of Cairns Libraries during this construction period.

Temporary Closure of Earlville Library - Earlville Library closed at 6pm Monday 25th August in its present location. It will reopen with a fresh new look at its new location within Stockland Shopping Centre near the south-eastern entrance on 8th September.

Members will be able to return items to the returns bin during this period and are welcome to visit any of the other branches of Cairns Libraries for their other library requirements. The Cairns Libraries team regrets any inconvenience this closure may cause to members and look forward to welcoming them to the new facility.

Shakespeare in the Library - Cairns Libraries, in partnership with the Shake and Stir Theatre Company, will be presenting workshops and a performance in the City Library in late August. Please see our Events Page for further details.
