Kids Fishing Hole News
The first edition of the Kids Fishing Hole News for 2010 is now available for download, or pick up a printed copy when next you visit your nearest Cairns Libraries branch.

New Library Kiosk@Port
A new Library Service has opened in Port Douglas. The Library Kiosk @ Port operates three days per week and offers complimentary access to the internet for Library members and free access to Cairns Libraries online computer catalogue.

The Library Kiosk @ Port will replace the existing Mobile Library service to Port Douglas. The Mobile Library Service that has been operating in Douglas for the last twenty years no longer meets the standards required by the State Library of Queensland.

The Library Kiosk @ Port commenced on Tuesday February 2nd, 2010. Operating hours are Tuesday 1 - 5 pm, Thursday 9 am - 1pm and Friday 9am - 1pm. The current Mobile Library Service will cease operations at the end of February.

Playaways are here!
Cairns Libraries offer the next generation of Audio Books. Each Playaway comes with the digital content already pre-loaded on it. No cassettes. No CDs. No Downloads. Just insert a AAA battery, plug in a standard set of headphones and enjoy! The Playaway collection is on trial and there is limited stock. Cairns Libraries hope you enjoy the new collection and welcomes any feedback.

Children's Book Council Book Of the Year Awards 2009

Baby Rhyme Time now at Earlville Library
Baby Rhyme Time is held at Smithfield Library on the second Thursday of every month at 10:30am, Stratford Library on every third Thursday of the month at 10:30am, and now at Earlville Library on every first Tuesday of the month at 10.30 am.

Baby Rhyme Time is for children up to 2 years old (with their carer). Bookings are essential on 4044 3711 (Smithfield), 4044 3733 (Stratford) or 4044 3766 (Earlville).
