Mossman LibraryMossman Library was established by the former Douglas Shire Council. In 2006 the library underwent major renovations creating more spacious and inviting areas. Douglas Shire and Cairns City Councils amalgamated in March 2008 to become Cairns Regional Council making Mossman Library the most northern of Cairns Libraries' 10 sites servicing communities from Port Douglas to the Daintree.

Mossman Library has an extensive local history collection that focuses on Mossman, Port Douglas and Daintree areas. It also has an Indigenous collection that supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in our area.

It currently offers a full range of services including, photocopying, access to 8 computers for word processing, scanning or internet via a booking management system, and a daily courier service to ensure residents have access to the full range of items on Cairns Libraries' catalogue.

A comfortable air-conditioned meeting room accommodating up to 12 people is available for hire during business hours.

Mossman Library has 21,610 items in its collection including DVDs, CDs, newspapers and magazines. In 2010/11, 97,401 people visited the library, borrowed 93,091 items and placed 12,291 reservations.

Baby Rhyme Time and Storytime sessions are held each Thursday. Computer for Beginner workshops are held regularly.  Check our Lifestyle Calendar.  Contact library staff to make a booking.
