Earlville Library began as Woree Library which opened on 15 October 1983 by the Mayor of the former Mulgrave Shire Council, Tom Pyne. The Library subsequently relocated to Stockland Cairns and was renamed Earlville Library. It re-opened as Earlville Library on 23 November 2003. On 8 September 2008, it relocated within the same centre and is now at the south-eastern entrance.

The children's section at the rear of the library features colourful artwork and is very popular with both children and parents. The library also features a dedicated youth area with pop art features designed to make the library a welcoming place for the youth of the area. A Cairns Regional Council Customer Service Office is located within the library area, allowing residents the opportunity to conduct Council business at the same time as their library visit.

Earlville Library is the second-busiest of Cairns Libraries' branches. It currently offers a full range of services including a self check station, photocopying, access to 17 computers for word processing or internet via a booking management system, and a daily courier service to ensure residents have access to the full range of items on Cairns Libraries' catalogue. Another exciting feature is the CD Select listening station. This station enables you to listen to a pre-selection of CDs.

Earlville Library has 31,950 items in its collection including DVDs, CDs, newspapers and magazines. In 2010/11, 354,689 people visited the library, borrowed 237,900 items and placed 33,111 reservations.

Baby Rhyme Time is held on the 1st Tuesday of each month. Story time sessions are held on the 4th Thursday of each month. Check our Lifestyle Calendar. Please contact library staff to make a booking.
